General Trumpeter Information

There are many types of trumpeter pigeons

Trumpeter pigeons were originally bred for their "voices" or trumpeting ability.

Some trumpeter breeds have lost the ability to "trumpet" and coo like any other pigeon.

I raise English Trumpeters and have interests in other trumpeter breeds as well.

Along with their trumpeting ability English Trumpeters are also very ornamental in feather.

Crest, mane, tuft and enormous muffs are all part of this breed's ornamentation.

Some other trumpeter breeds include Bokhara trumpeters, Arabian trumpeters and there are many others.
